Roots & Ruins is a collaborative activation exploring the intersection of landscape, technology, and rewilding.
This experience invites brands to take part in a truly original event that blends digital art, community engagement, and environmental impact.
HIKE AND SCAN
Part 1: Guided Hike + 3D Scanning Workshop
Participants join us on a curated hike through the Goyt Valley. Along the way, they learn to capture the landscape using 3D scanning techniques, collecting textures, forms, and found details that speak to their imagination.
Part 2: Exhibition & Afterparty
That same evening, the collected scans are woven together into a shared virtual landscape—a dreamlike digital collage crafted by Nick Delap and projected into the exhibition space. The result is an interactive artwork that reflects the group’s journey and sparks conversation around nature, technology, and togetherness.
Environmental Impact
This activation supports Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, whose rewilding efforts aim to restore and protect natural ecosystems across the Peak District region. We encourage either brands partnering with us or participants to donate a ticket fee sum to DWT.
Nicholas Delap is a digital artist whose practice explores local folklore, the ancient past, and ideas of rewilding. He creates immersive virtual environments, augmented reality experiences, and sculptural works that challenge human-centred perspectives and celebrate the personhood of the wild. His work invites a deeper dialogue between mythology, environmentalism, and digital space.
